Bachelor Degree Project  - Politecnico di Milano, 2017

For my bachelor degree I had to redesign a 'visual book', starting from a real one entitled L'importanza di essere Morrissey,
a collection of interviews of Steven Patrick Morrissey (one of the most popular singer in british pop) made from Paul A.Woods.
The aim was to realise a book which can embodied Morrissey and his personality, increasing the experience of reading through the visual revaluation of the contents.

The project is totally black and white to express purity and elegance, characteristics that Morrissey took from the aestheticism of Oscar Wilde and that had a key role for the aesthetic style of the singer.
It also has a material opposition which represents the convtroversial aspects of Morrissey's personality.
Music is the essence of Morrissey and the key of the revaluation of the contents. So, text was divided in two categories: the musical contents (the most important which are musical opinion, songs lyrics and their meaning) on right pages and the other arguments (secondary themes such as sexuality, political opinion and so on, which are not so important to understand the essence of the singer) on left pages.

'Legibility' is the typographic tool used to differentiate pages and contents, highlighting the importance of the musical one.
Left pages are difficult and annoying to read, while right pages are more fluent and readable.

Fonts used Futura, Palatino
