New York Mets A.J Ramos

Max Edelsack earned a bachelor's degree in sports communication from Marist College, where he announced a variety of sporting events on the school's FM radio station. Beyond his career pursuits in sports broadcasting, Max Edelsack is an avid fan of Major League Baseball's (MLB) New York Mets.

Despite trading away veteran players prior to the 2017 MLB trade deadline, the Mets bolstered its bullpen with the acquisition of former All-Star reliever A.J Ramos. The Mets sent minor league players Ricardo Cespedes and Merandy Gonzalez to the Miami Marlins in exchange for Ramos, who joins Jerry Blevins and Jeurys Familia in the bullpen. At the time of the trade, the Mets were 14 games behind the Washington Nationals for the National League East division lead, but the addition of Ramos shows the team is counting on a quick turnaround after making the playoffs in each of the past two seasons.

A native of Lubbock, Texas, Ramos was originally selected by the Marlins in the 21st round of the 2009 MLB Amateur Draft. He made his MLB debut in 2012 and has since compiled a win-loss record of 15-16 to go along with an earned run average of 2.79 and 399 strikeouts in 341.2 innings.
