These campaigns for War on Asthma are an important part of the healthy atmosphere of our children.
DESIGN APPROACH
Essentially, these ads use the word "War" to tell people the only way to combat a disease is to not live in a state of fear. As a result of this design decision, a more literal solution is applied, making the message more direct.

Milwaukee Brewery Company
CONCEPTUAL BACKGROUND
These ad campaigns were to re-brand for a radically new consumer based theme. The solutions extended to the full visual identity for the interface design and include the strong, simple designs of advertisements from yesterday.
DESIGN APPROACH
The identity for this brewery needed to feel distinguished; a brand that communicates this is a place where patrons can talk freely and have a good time. The typeface “Milwaukee Brewery” was designed from scratch, and was used for its familiar association of vintage Americana.

CONCEPTUAL BACKGROUND
The Walter Murphy Band recorded an album in 1976 titled, "Flight '76." I redesigned these posters, giving the album a new identity for a new generation of listeners.
DESIGN APPROACH
Although these posters appear vintage at first, with the integration of big-face text and imagery in different ideations, it is reliably modern in other respects. The arrangement of the image within the typography, together with bright colors, counters the risk of looking too cliché, communicating that this design's flexibility is grounded in dynamism.

The book redesigns of “Tom of Finland” are pieces revealing interesting, unusual space that I created intentionally. The subtle addition of the light blue bar ends up defining the space.

The approach was clear: create book jackets that evokes celebration, elegance, and Englishness. The work and personality of Touko Laaksonen provided the inspiration for the solution. The delicate artistic “dance” among men are as contemporary and distinctive as the product they represent. Enveloping the composition in bold fonts gives it a celebratory exuberance that fully captures the feeling of the artist’s life.
