Lemisque Turkish Delights

Türk Lokum, or Turkish Delights, are a traditional Turkish sweet dating back to the Ottoman Empire. Turkish Delights are a confection based on the gel of starch and sugar, with relation to a “chew” with nuts. Popular flavors among these sweets are Hazelnut, Pistachio, and Pomegranate. Turkish Delights are typically served after a meal in company with tea (çay).  Zafiran Safranbolu Lokum is a Turkish brand that sells traditional desserts and has expanded their brand into an international market for the packaging of Turkish Delights called LeMisque.

The scratch pattern used is to reflect the bits and pieces of nuts one would find in a piece of Turkish Delights. As well as the larger painted squares are to represent the shape and size of the Turkish Delight themselves. Each packaging includes a picture of the flavor, so one looking can put together the flavor image with the Turkish writing before looking on the back of the packaging for more information.
