Matchday Pass
Chair & System
This retractable chair was made by me when i was trying to find a good design to match an idea i had with a friend in the college, Sammy Waissman, wich was a system that could help people not only reserve, but find their seats in the stadiums , while also giving them coordinates to important points such as bathrooms, exits, and many other features.
The idea was initially concieved by him as a pass that could help people reserve and locate their seats in the stadium public area (theme of our Digital Lab. Class).Later on as we discussed pros and cons, we ended up with many new features:
-It would be an eletronic command with a built in display
-It would be the only way to unlock the reserved chair (by attaching on the armrest pin)
-It would have a GPS to guide in various languages
-key points in quick buttons: Seat,Bathroom,Exits and Ramps(wheelchairs)
-Extra buttoms for specific needs
-key functions: Support/help ,Call a Vendor, Lock Chair
The chair itself was developed right after i got inspired by ''Hipocampo'' a piece of design made by Pedro Cerisola, a mexican Designer.I liked alot how he used the retractable system into his piece, making it change shapes, also creating unique experience to the user, so i used some of my engineering and geometrical knowledge to develop a good solution for a need of technology and space, without loosing an elegant look, so i started a few sketches and soon i had the base pieces all fitting each other in tightest space possible, resulting in the clean look when the chair is closed and a surprising opening moment, creating an interesting experience for the user, not forgetting the measurement to provide ergonomy aswell.
This project is yet to be tweaked(Eletronic Parts and plastic materials research) and programmed(Arduino Uno) in a near future , so it can become physical.
