Based on a drawing from a late 16th Century Manuscript called the Boxer Codex, this is a depiction of what was labelled as a "Tagalog Royal". The Boxer Codex contains more than 70 paintings of the inhabitants and animals of China, the Philippines, Java, the Moluccas, the Ladrones, and Siam.
