The Most Gracious Golden Lengur of ASSAM
Gee's golden langur, or simply the golden langur, is an Old World monkey found in a small region of western Assam, India and in the neighboring foothills of the Black Mountains of Bhutan. It is one of the most endangered primate species of India.The golden langur (Trachypithecus geei​​​​​​​), which only became known to science in 1953, is endemic to western Assam, India, and southern Bhutan, the species was considered India's most endangered primate due to limited range and major deforestation (50%) as a result of a complex political situation from militants, Massive deforestation, and ethnic violence.
