Shaker Homecoming 2017 | Branding

As a graduate of Shaker Heights High School, a current Shaker boys' lacrosse coach, and pretty-much lifelong resident, I found myself as a volunteer on the 2017 Shaker Homecoming Committee.

Shaker's never really done anything to promote or market Homecoming. The Class of 2017 was Shaker's 100th graduating class, so the administration decided 2017 would be a great opportunity to do something big and try to attract alumni. The overall plan is to establish some base branding for Shaker Homecoming this year, and to continue using it and ultimately grow the brand over the next several years.

Thinking about what "Homecoming" actually means, it hit me to use "Come Home" as the core of the identity.

I created a bunch of shareable assets for Homecoming and Instagram, with the thought that Facebook would reach the older alumni, while Instagram would reach the "newer." I also created an oversized save-the-date postcard to be sent out to the alumni mailing list and to be shared on various social media outlets.
Front and back of the postcard that was sent out to the alumni mailing list. Postcards were also left in significant buildings/places around the city, like the public libraries, schools, and businesses.
