The Japanese writing system is very difficult to learn, because of complicated rules and too many characters that are difficult to read and write (especially kanji). As a big fan of Japanese calligraphy (shodō 書道) , I always wanted to simplify characters and improve writing system. This is my proposal for a whole Japanese writing system.

I rearranged some existing character and added new ones in Gojūon (五十音) ordering of kana, or now, it should be called Rokujūon (六十音) - which refers to the 6×10 grid.
I created new row with sound TS, because TSU (つ) was only sound existing, and in wrong row - T. Also to match sounds with rows, SHI (し) in row S became SI, CHI (ち) in row T became TI, FU (ふ) in row H became HU. I added sounds YI and YE, and lost sounds WI (ゐ,うぃ), WE (ゑ,うぇ), and new WU. Letter WO (を) doesnt have O sound, like it has in japanese language, beside sound WO.

Dakuon letters are now marked with one mark, instead of two (〝). Sounds SHI, CHI and FU are transferred here, with added new rows and characters for them. Also sound R becomes L, for the use of foreign words. Sound JI and ZU are transferred to Handakuon, and have just single character instead of two.

Handaukon has now rows with sounds Z and J, and is marked with two marks - dakuten点々 (〝). Phonetic shifts: S→Z T→J M→P

Yōon 拗音 is a feature of the Japanese language in which a mora is formed with an added J sound, i.e., palatalized. Sounds that have added J sound, with every syllable are: K, N, H, M, R, G, B, P. Symbol that is used is dash with curve.

Long vowels (ー) are marked with vertical dash next to character.

Moji māku 文字マーク represents all character marks used in writing. Sokuon (つ) is a pause (no sound) between two syllables. Now it has new symbol, instead of a small character TSU.

The system of Japanese numerals is the system of number names used in the Japanese language. The Japanese numerals in writing are entirely based on the Chinese numerals and the grouping of large numbers follow the Chinese tradition of grouping by 10,000. Japanese also write in Hindu-Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3).
Now, it has new characters, which some derive from kanji.
