Spiderman Homecoming infographic project

Peter Parker tries to act like a normal kid in the hostile high school environment and tries to impress his new mentor, Tony Stark. Meanwhile, Spiderman faces his first super villain challenge while he realises that being a hero will be brutal and require more sacrifices than he never envisioned.

PROCESS

Spidey's body was created with Zbrush, for the gadgets I used 3ds Max.

Once the high poly models are ready, the next step is to retopologize and unwrap them with 3ds Max. I usually bake the normal and occlusion maps with Xnormal and to create the curvature maps, I used a Photoshop action created by xc, you can find it on his Patreon page right here. With all the basic maps ready I had lots of fun creating the textures with Substance Painter, Illustrator and Photoshop.

For The Vulture, I followed almost the same process; Zbrush for the body and clothes with the addition of Marvelous Designer to the work pipeline and all the hard surface elements such as the helmet, armour, weapons and the intricate wings in 3ds Max.

The winged challenge

I tried to achieve the wings look as close as possible with the movie but the task was a little bit complicated. During the process I was following all promotional content available including the toys, posters and stills from the trailers and realize that The Vulture was using two models of wing suit during the movie, did you guys noticed? At the end the look and feel of the wings set I modeled for the project, resembles the second and more advanced version or Mark II, used during the 3rd act of the movie.

A very characteristic and frightening look

The jet pilot style helmet, provides The Vulture with protection and breathing assistance to resist the high altitude flights. Take a closer look of the helmet below.
