St. Paul's Cathedral, Melbourne

Sticker Project - St. Paul's Cathedral, Melbourne (2016)
This project was part of module taken at the RMIT undergraduate Communication Design programme. The task was to create a sticker set based on an experience we had in Melbourne during our time there. I found the cathedrals in Melbourne to be an interesting part of the city. It stands out amongst the modern architecture and has some deep rooted historical stories behind them as well. St. Paul's Cathedral is one of the more prominent ones in the city and is one that many, if not everyone, who have been to Melbourne's city would have seen.
Introduction:

St. Paul’s Cathedral is an iconic building in Melbourne. Its Neo-gothic architecture stands out amongst the modern buildings and it’s a visual statement in Melbourne’s city landscape. I chose this cathedral because it is in one of the busiest parts of Melbourne, yet its silent and reflective interior is a stark contrast from the busy streets right outside. Using watercolour as the medium continues to emphasize the history and tradition that a building such as this associates with. This sticker set was designed to be given to children who come to St. Paul’s to learn to paint.

Watercolour illustrations were done manually and then later scanned to use for the project digitally.
