Azazel - Fable Series (1 of 12)
Illustration series started in 2012 exploring different characters inspired by old fables and tales. Originally started as an exercise to explore new texture techniques but quickly developed into a theme that I wanted to pursue further. Azazel is a comical mix between devil and jester and is inspired by one of my favorite books, Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov. In the book the devil comes to visit Moscow to see how the people have changed. He is not menacing but curious, cunning and satirical. The entire set will maintain this playful balance.
