This was an interpretation of the quote from a letter to the president of Slovenia from a asylum seeker from Iraq which we included in the magazine.
The story is very sad! Slovenian politics and judicial system is extremely restictive towards accepting azilants. The aim of the letter is kind of a last scream for the asylum seeker in his unbelievable fight.
In the magazine we covered a deep analysis of the situation of immigrants in Slovenia.
The english translation is:
For the international audience i need to explain some things:
The form of Slovenian country is like a chicken. So the President of Slovenia is a big cock - the biggest chicken in the tribe;)
So my idea was to highlight the question: WHO IS ALOUD TO BE AN EGG IN SLOVENIAN COUNTRY? WHO CAN BE HATCHED FROM EGG IN SLOVENIAN COUNTRY?
Typography treatment derives from a Slovenian catholic! picturesque tradition - dying eggs for the Easter.

The cover is a visual interpretation of the quote from one of the most renewed slovenian philosopher Mladen Dolar who was interviewed exclusively for the magazine.
The interview was based on the topic of creativity related to national identity, world crisis, etc.
English translation of the quote is:
The quote was very challenging for me. I decided to play with the concept of Culture.
Culture in a wider sense was and is "guilty" of making differences between nations, races, traditions. Culture makes borders - what is in and what is out.
I interpreted this with deconstructing - cut on slices - the maps of the World from different origins and eras (from arabic medieval times, european, world wars times, till recent world maps) and making a 3dimensional composition intertwining the sliced stripes of maps.
The result is here.
