On November 15, 1959, in the small town of Holcomb, Kansas, a wealthy farmer, his wife and their two young children were found brutally murdered. Blood all over the walls, the telephone lines cut, and only a few dollars stolen. Heading up the investigation is Agent Al Dewey, but all he has are two footprints, four bodies, and a whole lot of questions.

Truman Capote's detailed reconstruction of the events and consequences of that fateful night, In Cold Blood is a chilling, gripping mix of journalistic skill and imaginative power
Starting this project I designed my book cover with some of the visual key features in the book. I started with the rope used to tie up the victims and the license plate of one of the cars that the killers were travelling in.
Further experimentation led me to incorporate photography with illustration to create perfect textures and give the book that harsh dark tone reflecting the Author's writing.
For the final design for this book cover i chose to limit the colour palette to blue, yellow, black and white. These colours compliment each other well giving the book an easy balance and the right tones.
