It is estimated that by 2026, a high-speed railway initiative will be developed to link the two
neighbouring countries Singapore and Malaysia together. Therefore GOLI-GULI is an
illustrative publication dedicated to promote the long lasting and unique friendship
that these two countries have shared all these years.
Featuring different artists and writers for each section, the publication would shed
light over issues and stories relatable amongst Malaysians and Singaporeans,
such as hawker food,traffic jams and even politics.
'Goli-Guli', the title of the publication, is a combination
of the words Goli and Guli, both meaning marbles in Malay. Despite this, both are
said differently. This shows that despite Malaysia and Singapore being similar in terms
of history, race and languages—we are still different in plenty of other aspects.
