SmartTravel Ear buds
A long plane journey might often not be a great start to your travel plans. Not only can they be uncomfortable and sleep depriving, but the great equaliser of any plane passenger’s journey is pain caused by earache. When a plane ascends or descends, there is a rapid change in air pressure outside the eardrum. The inner ear is unable to adapt to the changes fast enough, hence causing the eardrum to deform painfully. Kids have it worse, when the excitement of first flight is overshadowed by fear of constant ache. Created for the adventurer, the smarttravel buds allow you to travel freely. In collaboration with SMART, it is designed and engineered to make your adventure a seamless one. The core is a newly developed sensor that detects air flow from the difference in air pressure between two air bodies, acting as a new kind of differential pressure sensor. And with that data, the smarttravel bud adapts for you, using a swivel-like hole connected to a channel running through the earbud. As air pressure increases outside the earbud, air flow is detected by the sensor, which then changes the size of the hole. This restricts airflow into the channel, slowing down the change in pressure between the inner and outer ear, giving time for your ears to adapt. All this done while you get some well deserved rest while the smarttravel buds deal with the pain in the background. The smart travel bud allows you to fully enjoy your in-flight entertainment with ease, without worrying about earache or ear blocks, whether it’s watching the latest movies, tv shows, or listening to music. Wires can even be detached as they transform into earplugs that continue to keep you hands-free and comfortable.
