Circuit Tea Packaging | GDUSA Winner

For my college Concept Strategies course I was tasked with designing the logo and packaging for a tea company. I knew that I wanted to my tea to be marketed towards a “techy” demographic, including people such as computer scientists, engineers, gamers, and anyone who regularly uses computers and technology. This is a group that does not typically drink tea or have tea marketed towards them, so I thought it would be a fun concept to explore.

I chose the name Circuit because of the word’s association with computers, and to suggest the flow of energy throughout the body that is often associated with drinking tea. The tea packaging is more masculine and modern, so the logo I designed is sleek and minimal. All the type of the packaging uses a modified font to maintain consistency between the shapes in the type and the shapes of the graphics.

Circuit tea is intentionally marketed more like an energy drink than an organic tea. Tea contains caffeine and stimulants, making it a healthy alternative to sodas or energy drinks. Hopefully having tea that looks “cool” enough will encourage people to make healthier decisions when they need that extra kick to get them through those last lines of code or the last round of an intense match.
