Digital Creation of a Historical Ceiling

Based on a 1929 interior perspective photograph, the perspective and the foreshortening, that results from perspectives, was removed and flattened. The one corner revealed the entire pattern of the ceiling. As a result, it was copied to create the entire ceiling image. Due to cost infringements, the ceiling has not been seen in its initial state by any living generation of the congregation, as it has been covered. This is an on-going project which will attempt to also re-create the wall paintings as an attempt to preserve the church’s history.
