The store is located in the center of Athens and is the second showroom of the greek company “Patiris”, which trades bathroom tiles and sanitary ware.
The main design objective was the creation of a unified space by using clean, continuous surfaces. Due to the limited sq. m. per floor, this approach along with retaining the visual contact through the whole store helped to maximize the idea of the room size. The main wall is coated with pebbles. Special sheet metal constructions – shelves were created to display the products. The vertical elements of the display cases are movable to adjust to the size of the tiles. The roof of the ground floor is coated with wood boards and accentuates the sense of space continuity. Two custom-made rectangular wooden tables were constructed to showcase sinks, faucets etc.
Internal partitions were formed by ceramic perforated tiles to create individual exhibition bathrooms. The same tiles were used as “light screens”, at the ceiling of the double height entrance area and at the blind basement window designed both as an architecture element and technical illumination of the space.
