Il concept del disegno nasce da una domanda che risuona nella mia mente da molto tempo: quale può essere il ragionamento alla base di chi si presta ad un conflitto in nome della religione?

La risposta che, umilmente, vuole suggerire questo lavoro è la seguente: coloro i quali sono disposti a combattere e morire in nome di un Dio, qualunque esso sia, considerano se stessi alla stregua di uno "strumento" in mano alla propria divinità, sacrificando la loro vita terrena per realizzare un ipotetico volere superiore. Tutto ciò nella speranza di una elevazione spirituale basata sulla promessa di un Paradiso, con le varie peculiarità dei diversi credo.

Il paradosso è questo: gli Dei, immortali per definizione, non possono prevalere uno sull'altro seppur combattendo. La conseguenza di ciò è una massa di persone che si sacrifica inutilmente. Inutilmente perché in questa guerra non può esistere un vincitore. Gli uomini che stanno per raggiungere il proprio Paradiso, qualunque esso sia, forse si renderanno conto di tutto ciò, giungendo alla conclusione che probabilmente non ne valeva la pena.

The concept of this drawing comes from a thought I had in my mind for a long time: what could be the way of thinking of someone who joins a conflict in the name of religion?

The answer that this work would humbly suggest is: whose who are willing to fight and to die in the name of any God, consider themselves as "tools" in the hand of it's own divinity, sacrificing their earthly life to achieve an hypothetic divine will. All this in the only hope to elevate themselves, eventually reaching the Paradise their God promised them.

This is the paradox: Gods are by definition immortal, so none of them can win against the other. The consequence of all this is a mass of people sacrificing themselves unnecessarily. That's because in this war there can be no winner. The men who are reaching their Paradise, no matter which one, will maybe realize all this, coming to the conclusion that maybe it was not worth it.
