This poster was requested by the University of South Carolina First Year Reading Association.  Each year the university picks out a book and asks a graphic design student to create a poster for the event that is held each fall for the incoming freshmen.  Callings is collection of memoirs and recordings of peoples lives, and how they found their calling in it.  I decided to go with the dandelion which represents the journey of life.  Each petal on the dandelion is imprinted with prints of students in my classes, to represent that no one person has the same journey.  At the top some petals are seen flying away and some are just beginning to grow on the flower itself, this implies that each person is at a different stage on their journey to life.
