Below are some look development as well as final renders from an animated feature film I had the opportunity to work on. Sadly, it was canceled and our studio shut down in April 2017. I was a senior lighting and shading artist at The Flying Circus, where I was tasked with overseeing our transition from Renderman 19 and REYES to Renderman 21 and RIS. This included identifying and solving optimization challenges, developing lighting, shading and rendering strategies, character and environment look development as well as workflow scripting in Python. Master scenes were created for environments, characters and props for easy scene assembly, lighting and rendering. Slap comps with further look development were prepared in Nuke for our composting department as well. It was a great experience, and so much was learnt under the mentoring of my lighting TD. It's something I hope to build upon in the near future.
