In August, Medellín known as the “city of eternal spring” celebrates the Festival of the Flowers. The festival is the most important social event for the city and takes place every year for 10 days. A traditional event in which different activities and events are performed, celebrating the flowering and customs of the region.

In 2014 EPM (Residential public utilities company of Medellín) and Silex (Innovation group) a group of students, professors and alumni of EAFIT; Came together to build the giant flowers, sculptures of steel, covered by more than 150,000 flowers and located in the most important places in Medellin, decorating the city and allowing visitors to obser- ve the beauty of the flowers and remember traditional figures of Antioquia.
