InNEED: Managing Natural Disasters Through Community Self-Organization Using Mobile Technology
InNeed was conceptualized as a localized system that aids in natural disaster management. The platform aims to mobilize community through resource sharing at a time of crisis, and serves as a virtual survival kit accessed through mobile technology.
A collaborative project between Fareena Chanda and Nermin Moufti, InNEED won the 2011 Microsoft Design Expo. The concept was presented at the Design Exchange in Toronto and at the annual Faculty Summit at Microsoft in Redmond, WA.
