Mentoke Shooter
A toy which draws it's inspiration from the public's fascination with the Mentos and Soda reaction.

Marshmallow Fun Company wanted some new toys which would fit within their brand language at a competitive price. With this wide open directive we studied the essence of what makes a toy successful, various styling trends, and of course, MFC's line of marshmallow shooting toys.
In out first client review, MFC went with my "Food Fight" line of toys which shoot other types of food besides marshmallows.  I was project manager for the remainder of the project.

One of the chosen designs was a toy which would use the energy created from adding a Mentos candy to Diet Coke to shoot the soda out a nozzle like a water gun. But before we could start design, we had to first prove this was possible and under what circumstances.  After some initial difficulty, I built a prototype which achieved fifty foot shots of soda.
The Mentoke Shooter was unveiled in New York at Toy Fair 2012, where in addition to selling 3000 in the first hour, it received good press from various news outlets.
