Gerhard Richter is a German visual artist. Richter has produced abstract as well as photorealistic paintings. I wanted to create three separate books. The first about his life as well as his process, the second about his photorealistic paintings, and the third about his abstract paintings. I wanted to include many elements throughout the design that accentuated each of his styles and works with the use of typography, color, texture and structure. The three books live in a white canvas wrapped box to represent how Richter starts all of his painting with a solid white canvas and starts with using only primary colors and mixes on the canvas as he paints.
