Description
The new School of Business and Management is the most sustainable building on the AUS campus and provides a new benchmark for future building designs and sets a new standard for business schools in the middle-east. The large building plate is penetrated by three open-air courtyards that replace the ubiquitous atriums present in all academic buildings. The courtyards bring light into offices and common areas and reducing the need for artificial lighting. Walls into corridors are frosted glass, allowing natural light into a normally dark double-loaded corridor. Automated lighting control systems detect natural light levels and movement. The IT director and I worked together to introduce digital signage innovations to assist with room assignment and information distribution.
