When 9-year-old Connor Verkerke insisted his grandmother write a book about love, she had no idea it would be the last thing he’d ask of her—days later, Connor was murdered. After two years of tears, pain, compassion, and forgiveness, Hey Nana! was created. It’s a story of a family recovering from tragedy, and the healing that love can provide. This project was unique in that it combines many elements from an ongoing story about family, love, devotion, grief, and hope. CurlyHost focused on the missional element of Connor’s story which highlights the gift that his death can provide many people. The design directs viewers to the published story of Connor’s death, and the lesson’s his grandmother took away from it, but also directs them towards further knowledge and contact with the books author in order to continue the never ending story of hope and shared pain.
