Album Cover for Sleeping Robot
This album cover is a combination of sculpture and digital illustration. We cast the artists hand in alginate and used several bottles of resin to encase the armature, lighting and wiring.
The hand needed a couple of weeks to completely cure and then we photographed it from several different angles with muultiple lighting arrangements to get the best possible representation of the casting.

The background is constructed of a night-time star photograph and some images of an island that I took. The island was then manipulated to look more like a digitized sound wave, and general image clean up was applied.
The recommendation for the record/album was to use orange transparent vinyl to match the lighting effects in the hand.
The album labels use the pattern of the reflected light in the water for both the A and B sides. The typography mimics the text on the front and back of the jacket.
