Birell // ACN Limited Edition Cans

The African Cup of Nations (ACN) is the most popular and engaging competition in Africa, bringing nations to the soccer stadium where each team caries the hopes, pride and aspirations of their people. Winning the cup seven times, Egypt has been its most frequent champion. In 2010, Egypt's victory led to their seventh championship and their third consecutive cup, becoming the most successful team in the history of the tournament.

Since then, however, Egypt has failed to qualify. The 2017 ACN tournament in Gabon marks Egypt's return to the competition after seven years of not participating in the previous three editions. The anticipation and excitement is very palpable in Egypt, a country where football is by far the most cherished sport.

As all fans of the sport know, there is a special way to express this love and enthusiasm for the game. Whether it's at a stadium, a café or home with family and friends, cheering is the best way to express this energy, this passion and this love. With it, the game gives voice to a collective feeling of shared hope and solidarity.

This is why Birell, Egypt's most popular non-alcoholic malt drink, celebrates this energy and the voice of Egyptian fans in its first limited-edition cans. The cans prominently feature the various cheers, chants, slogans and celebrations that both fans and football commentators make to encourage their national team. The cans are part of a wider campaign that includes press, outdoors and TV spots.
