3D Boar Videogame Character Project

As one of my 3 Projects for my "Live Briefs" portion of Third Year (Graphic Media Design) I managed to land a Project with a small Games Development Company based here in Bradford who wanted me to conceptualise, Model and Texture a 3D model of a main video-game character for a potential game. This is something I was VERY excited to do, so I put a lot of hard work and effort into this project from start to finish. Below you will find my Final Renders, An interactive Live Model courtesy of Sketchfab and many Renders of the Project over time, including Concepts.

Sketchfab is by far one of the best services I've discovered for 3D Modellers. Highly recommend this if you're a 3D Modeller yourself.
These are the Client's 3 favourite designs. He chose the one on the Right, but wanting the Colour scheme of the Top Left design.

I began grouping the Polys into smoothing groups, creating a style I was becoming more and more fond of by the second.
Teeth, Eyes and a Neckerchief were added to the model.
Very initial texture phase, with a specular map for details. As you can see, it's quite ugly. It's around this point that I discovered the process for creating custom Normal maps based on High-poly sculpts - With the help of the client.
Here was my first High Poly Sculpt, side-by side with my original model.
Same again.
Once I finally figured out texture projection to create a Normal Map, this was my first attempt with the map applied.
I was fairly unhappy with the results of the last attempt, so having more of an understanding of the process I started again, here is the new High-poly model.
Same again.
And here are the far superior results of the new Normal Map.
The new Normal Map also needed an exciting texture to go with it, so I spent a couple of days meticulously painting the one you see above.
