Oil on paper with pastels; a preliminary sketch for a print project.
A Guinea Fowl scratches about under leafy shade.
300 gsm paper has been painted with oil paint, watered down with white spirit; applied with brushes and a sponge.  When dry, it was added to with soft oil pastels which could be built up, or removed to expose the original undercoat.

Close up.

This was posted to Twitter where it was spotted by a weaver who has asked to use it as the next design for his project.  It is actually a sketch for an idea to use when I return to the print workshop.  It will be a challenge to recreate it in a totally different medium and discipline.
