Undo - Disconnect LP

This illustration comes from a previous failed project although later became part of a successful one as it ended being the cover of a music album released on november 2016 by Gabriel Berlanga aka UNDO on Barcelona's Factor City record label.

This whole thing teach me something. It doesn't matter the purpose or the meaning you want to express through your works, people will always find their own meaning on them and make them theirs. This happened to me in this case with UNDO.

He saw something on this illustration that connected with his own ideas and asked me to make the album's design using it.
For him it represented the idea of inner freedom and disconnection from our present reality constrained by social environment, political correctness, opposite ideologies, religious or secular beliefs and lately the omnipresent technology that affects our behavior by stealing our privacy or reducing the time we invest in our introspection and self enjoyment. There's a world out there besides screens, medias and networks. He said to me.

Here are some more words from Gabi about his album at The Ransom Note and Mondo Sonoro.

But for me initially had another meaning, mayhap not so positive.

Quite often, since I could remember, I feel as if I have been thrown to Earth from above by someone without any technological device to letting me land safely. It’s a nocturnal landing with my bare chest amidst the dark, not knowing when or where I will collide. Thrown to this reality by force, because other humans "my parents" desired me... Like everyone, I came from a powerful wish.

There was a crash on a first sphere, a spark of consciousness and after that I'm still falling to a second place. I look to others and they seem to be in the very same situation, but they don't care, they're fine in this mathematical recreation ruled by unfathomable logics, falling down to somewhere else. But it really matters? I will be conscious after the second impact, at the very moment of my own death? Nothing is fixed, everything falls at different speeds. I look behind me and ask myself... Where I was before everything this happened? Where I will be after?
