Suicide Prevention PSA Poster

On average someone commits suicide every 16.2 minutes. Only 1 in 64,000 children age 10-14 do so. This is Tony and on December 6, 2015 he became the 1. He is my roommate's (and at one time, fiancé's) 14 year old brother, and nobody knew just how broken he felt from all the bullying he received at school.

Parents, if your child, or anyone you know, is being bullied or feeling depressed, PLEASE seek help. You never know what they may be thinking until it is too late!
This is the final design. Instead of the face being so realistic I turned it into an illustration to help blend in with the rest of the design.
The next step was to add the Suicide Prevention Lifeline phone number, and a question to catch the viewer's attention.
Now I add a solid black layer and the Suicide Awareness ribbon. Then I used the pen tool to create the broken pieces of glass for a stained glass look.
Then I found a couple of "cracked" textures and masked them over the face. I adjusted the blending modes until I found the right amount of "cracks."
Next, I used the patch tool to remove the bags under the eyes. I also lassoed the teeth and added a hue/saturation adjustment layer to whiten the teeth.
I started this poster by scanning in an image then masking out everything except for the face.
Images I used to create this piece.
