When IP Australia approached Sprout Labs with the task of designing and developing their Trade Mark examination training program, it was an opportunity to create something outstanding.
Our plan was to design & build an e-learning module/ website whose features & visual appearance would excite and engage trade mark examiners. Understanding the target audience was key to this project, and enabled us to see that we needed to create something clean, modern and NOT to use linear learning approach. We used an illustration based approach where a character was introduced in the beginning of the unit. The examiner was guided through the unit with interactive images, videos, and illustration based scenarios.

Iconography
Icons play a very important role in defining the way user interact with the website. For this project, we created more than 200 custom icons to match the overall theme of the project.
Characters
An illustration based approach resulted in generating more than 30 custom characters.
Mockups
Wireframes and mockups helped define the overall look and feel of the project.
