Interactive Educational Model (IEM)

The Interactive Educational Model (IEM) is a project that was undertaken by me a colleague of mine, Manan Oza. This was part of our summer internship/training period at the Development and Educational Communication Unit (DECU) of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) (May - June, 2012)

The project was developed right from the scratch keeping in mind various syllabus based programs/videos produced by DECU for different Education boards across India. These Videos are relayed using ISRO's EduSAT to various EduSAT stations across the country.

We proposed to build a prototype which could turn their library of videos into something more than just a library.
This project not just turned out to be an Interface for creating a repository of their videos but later on turned into an IEM. Now this becomes an active learning tool for students rather than being just an online video library.

The development of the entire IEM was stepwise. We started with research to find out the various different tools available in the market which serve as a tool for students, help students to understand abstract topics in a more graphical way and also to look at the reach of those tools in the market.

The next step involved trying to play with and brainstorm with various layouts on paper and then creating a final layout on powerpoint which would give us a better idea about not the just look of the interface but also the flow of information.
Once we were sure of the flow of information and the structure of the interface we then finalized the graphics and the final look and feel of the website.

That included creating the final prototype
Below is the documentation of the entire IEM and its application and constraints.
