Environmental Racism
Two interactive postcards that shed light to a current issue in Milwaukee, WI
As much as I love Wisconsin and love the city of Milwaukee, this was a piece done to open some peoples eyes about the segregation and poverty that still exists in Milwaukee as it does in many cities. The term that I found the most fascinating was "environmental racism", which is a form of racism linked to peoples geographical location and surrounding opportunities. I wanted to focus on the idea that Milwaukee is a food desert. What is meant by that, is that there are people within the community that don't have access to healthy food, due to location or transportation, and some people just plain can't afford it. Instead these people rely on corner stores in their neighborhoods where they can buy junk food for a fraction of the price of food that has great nutrition.

These postcards are interactive and allow the viewer to learn all at the same time.
