Practice, practice practice...
This is how I initially got interested in art. I did some drawings and then I saw that I was good at it and thought it was fun. I began with just drawing for a whole year, trying different techniques and making it as close as the reference I was using. Later on I picked up colors and paint, to make something to put on my walls which at the time was empty. Now I've moved a few times and still to small walls for me :D
