Process of this work
Step 1: Data collection.
I collected all of my time of a week spent on three kinds of media(phone, computer, books). Then, I analyzed and grouped the data by using Excel.
Step 2: Preliminary visualization.
I used Tableau to visualize the data. By using Tableau, I can have a quick understanding of the data.
Step 3: Sketch.
I wanted to visualize the data by mapping them on a radian chart, so this is the tentative drawing.
Step 4: Using Adobe Illustrator to make the infographic.
Step 5: First revision.
Based on the feedbacks I gathered, I revised the style of the infographic. I removed the radial chart in the center of the circle because it is confusing to readers.
Step 6: Second revision.
I revised the details of this infographic. For example, the "Detailed Media Usage" circle, the information was very compact, I made a coordinated view of the chart.
Step 7: Third revision.
The infographic was made for a course of 2016 Fall semester. I think it still has space for improvement. So, in 2017 summer, I kept revising it.
