BAYZ is a company specialized for the development and production of audio hifi equipment in the high-end segment. The products are unique, hand-made, limited edition pieces. Besides the distinct sounding, a neat and minimalist form language characterizes the products of the company. Accordingly, the brand image is intended to reflect these qualities.
The emblem is built up of two separate graphical units, one being the monogram-logo that primarily defines the company’s identity, created of the initials of the founder of the company, Bay Zoltán, the other being the characteristic emblem-like unity of ‘BAYZ audio’. The interweaning letters of the logo are created by a continual, unbroken line. Their transitioning and interconnecting intersection define paralell planes, hence the plane graphics create a sense of spatiality. The harmonious balance of square and round/curved forms and the resulting rhythm gives a kind of musicality to the logo, reflecting the complementary nature of the high and low termini of sounds. Therefore, the minimalist monogram becomes a synthesis of symbols that radiates complexity and uniqueness.
The typography of the “Bayz” title is easy-to-read and characteristic; also, by the spacious lines of the letters and the harmonious rhythm of the thin and thick lines the appearance of the emblem becomes ligth and ethereal. The distinct slants of the letters create a symbolical continuity between past and present; between classical vlaues and tradition (classicist serif antiqua) and modern clean form language.
The logo builds on the contrast of black and white, while the “Bayz” title is dark grey on those element surfaces where it appears together with the logo, in order to avoid it becoming more emphatic than the light design of the monogram. A part of the brand image is an optional graphical mutation of the monogram, in which the original monogram is completed with actual discontinuities at the intersections, hence emphasising the feeling of spatiality. This version is suitable for a wide range of technical methods.
