For this poster I tried to mimic the letterpress style of the Hat Show Print posters with a distressed font (Plane Crash) and stylistic elements such as the stars, to which I applied an opacity mask. I created outlines on the font and reduced the opacity of the letters in "Sonic Youth" to 55% in order to create the overlap effect. I also purposefully enlarged the font and cassette tape to reflect other Hatch Show Print posters. The cassette tape is a glyph I downloaded from dafont; I created an artistic, cutout effect and reduced its opacity to 83%. I chose a cassette and the grunge look of the font to evoke the band's musical style and the height of their career (late 80s-early 90s).
