Joyous Melodies | I AM KARACHI Walls of Peace

Joyous Melodies
Joyous Melodies is a mural design done for the Walls of Peace by I AM KARACHI. The Walls of Peace initiative focuses on replacing negative and politically charged graffiti covered walls with visual images and messages that illustrate positive values such as peace, tolerance and diversity. In partnership with Vasl Artists Collective, the target is to convert hundreds of walls across the city into creative visual landmarks. Last year thousands of walls were reclaimed in various neighbourhood by local artists, artisans and citizens to create unique public art that binds the community together.

Pakistani is inherited with enchanting and glorious diverse cultures. The richness of Pakistan inspired me to come up with an illustration that represents an experience focusing on music culture of Pakistan that how it has been traveling through eras, providing everyone, the same love, and joy. It is music that fills the cultural, racial gaps amongst communities and brings everyone “together”. Illustrating the different kinds of music and musical instruments and architecture from Sindh, Punjab, KPK, Baluchistan and Kashmir into single piece of art to show how music can tie different regions together is what this illustration aims for.
