London Hilton Bankside

This is a project from the end of last year, though I didn't get to see it in situ until Feb this year. The work is on the exterior wall of the new London Bankside Hilton, just out the back of Tate Modern, New Tate Modern even. It is undercover in the place where the cars drive in and people get out and the cars get chauffeured away.
The theme was the urban fox, somehow I quite liked that and it was easy to create  a narrative for the painting. Each panel was 2.5x2.5m so just the logistics in my studio space were a bit of a nightmare, I could have found somewhere else I suppose, but everything I have done on site for any project has not been great, just the thing of being uncomfortable in a place and not having the things I might need around me.

NOTHING IS BEAUTIFUL OR FOREVER AND THEN I SAW A FOX
DOWN AN ALLEY AND IT FOLLOWED ME HOME
YOU START TO FIND THINGS BENEATH THE SHADOWS
AND THE LAYERS THERE ARE MONUMENTS TO NOTHING
IN THE CREASES OF SOME CITYHOLLOW STATUES OF SWALLOWED WORDS
IF I WAIT ANY LONGER THE WANTING WILL FADE
BACK IN THE D
BACK IN THE DAYS WHEN THE DAYS WERE LONGER THERE WAS
TIME TO WAIT AND SEE
NOW IT ALL MOVES FASTER BUT NO MATTER
now I have a fox on my shoulder
a sly fox on my shoulder to lead the way
a stealth shadow so he is
