Three key areas of focus
Step One
3D
Battersea Power Station is and still is an iconic landmark in the capital of London. The first of eight phases planned for the regeneration of Battersea Power Station was phase one 'circus west' that Carillion is delivery for BPSDC. My involvement within the project was predominately to develop the 3D model for clash detection that designers would share their individual models for federation and enabled design coordination in a 3D environment. This then enabled the project team to review through a series of planned design coordination workshops using Navisworks managed as the medium to review the federated model.
Step Two
4D
Supplementary, to this process above, we also explored visual work sequencing using the 3D model in conjunction with planning and synchro applications to assess construction work in specific areas that was considered complex construction. The specific areas that were reviewed in detail was Block G energy centre, MEP installation within basement 1 and 2, apartment fit out and the hoist removal to enable the completion of external facade.
The time sequence video produced was to enhance communications between project teams our specialist trade contractors, designers, the client and above all health and safety in a controlled environment. With the overall objective to reduce and mitigate risk and enable synergies within the project teams.
Step Three
