Amazon’s Echo devices with their digital assistant Alexa are doing more than just driving sales - with an open ecosystem to build apps or as Amazon calls them, skills, many new use cases have emerged. Our Sr. Computer Scientist, Dylan DePass grabbed an Amazon Echo to see how it might perform in the office of the future.
Looking to have a web analyst sitting in your office 24x7 waiting to give you the low down on your web performance? Dylan DePass takes you through a technology demo showing what happens when you pair Amazon Echo with our Adobe Analytics to deliver realtime insights.
Ever since the days of Star Trek we have been fascinated with using natural language to communicate with computers and devices. The Amazon Echo has been used to get balances on your checking account, play music, control the temperature in your house and other areas of home management.

But what about a business use case. Or accessing a report from home while you are getting ready in the morning? Imagine driving to work in the morning and asking Alexa how the web site is doing then getting some insight about the performance. Then asking Alexa to email you a detailed report. I can see that scenario playing out today but instead the executive calls an analyst to get that data.

What’s interesting is taking a data format like a dashboard - specifically analytics - and programming a voice interface to that insight. It has provided us a lot of insight into what’s possible and where the tech falls short. Check out the video to learn more about this proof of concept.
