As a Designer, I always knew that I would want to design my own wedding collateral. I enjoyed combining both me and my future husband's love for black/white, classic styles, and personal movie and show quotes. As every couple knows, while having things in common is important, it's always true that people must compliment each other and sometimes that means that they can be very different! Therefore, using black and white made sense to me since while opposites, they compliment each other wonderfully. Inspiration came from old vintage classics and old typography in silent movies, paired with classic stripes, a mail-seal like logo and mixing old-style fonts with modern cap text.
These Save the Dates were the guest's first look at the style of the collateral and the wedding. I changed names and other personal information.
The invitations were two-sided and put into a black envelope with a reply card, and then put into a white envelope for mailing with the (b) and return address printed on.
There were 40 different reply card designs so most of the guests had their own picked out for them. We encouraged them to write a message to us before putting it in the mail and we were able to collect them for a keepsake book to display at the wedding. Each quote was special to at least one of us.
