study of life and design principles
This book was developed around design principles (American/Western and Japanese) abstracting them to correlate with life lessons and quotes i.e. PRINCIPLE: Study of Scale pairs with "A person's a person, no matter how small." - Dr. Seuss which correlates to "Datsuzoku" (transcending the conventional).
I hand bound and produced the entire book from front to back:
French folded Neenah Green paper with color paper inserts between folds with a mix of Japanese influenced hand stitching and perfect binding. This was an examination of organic tactile elements vs modern strict digital elements designed with a heavy influence of dutch design.

From our book, we were to create a digital version of our book. Since my book can be interpreted as a self help book, I created a mobile app that helps you catalyze and push on through one's day by letting one vent or complain on end.
+ choose a color: each color refers to an emotion "are you angry or frustrated"
+ type in your complaint
+ close up the "complaint box"
+ shake the ipad or iphone
+ pop the box by tapping on it and read the inspirational quote so calm your feelings.
