VELD is an electronic music festival in Canada. They approached me to create two video teaser, mixing footage from previous years and 2D motion graphics.

The festival showcases some of the most revered names in electronic music, such as Deadmou5, Steve Aoki, Kygo or Flume
The purpose of this first video, was to highlight the name of theses artist using motion graphics.

I created a dynamic montage sync with the music. 2D motion graphics is used to enhance video footage.
and to higlhlight artists names. This video had to be a really short, 40 second maximum. So I choose to make the titles move really fast and make its stretch with the motion. Also, I add some 2D fx to higlight the name arrival.

The purpose of the main teaser was to highlight the crazy atmosphere of the festival.
So The video editing has to be really dynamic matching the music.
Motion graphics is used for two aim.
First of all to accentuate the mouvement with 2D fx, for some lines and splash, etc. And to highlight the main informations about the festival. Second, to enhance the environment with new elements which take part of the footage, like people, waves, or flags. These elements are only made of outlines and fill with a blur (median) of the video footage.
