Skating the Starlight Express Book Cover Illustrations
Michal Fraley has taught skating techniques to recreational, competitive artistic and speed skaters, as well as over 600 performers for productions of Starlight Express, Andrew Lloyd Webber's roller-skating musical about the lives of trains. This book chronicles Michal's life, his own training as a skater and the many paths that led him to a full-time life of skate training. Michal continues to serve as one of the leading skate trainers for international productions of Starlight Express.

Hanna Barbera Open Art Project Illustrations
This series of three illustrated posters was created in response to an invitation by Hanna-Barbera Productions, Inc. to generate inventive reimaginings of classic HB characters. These posters show the three principle characters from the 1965-1967 series, Secret Squirrel, interpreted as a set of typographic illustrations. This work was executed through and commissioned by Matli Group.
Secret Squirrel character imagery remains the sole property of Hanna-Barbera Productions and Warner Brothers Studios.

Hagerty Insurance Policy Announcement Illustrations
Both of these illustrations were developed as graphic concepts to communicate Hagerty's exceptional commitment to the preservation of collector vehicles directly to Hagerty policy holders.
These illustrations were designed to be printed directly onto standard insurance documentation that Hagerty clients would receive regularly via mail. This work was executed through and commissioned by Matli Group.

These two illustrations were created in response to an invitation by DC Comics to generate inventive reimaginings of characters from the Batman comics. These images feature Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy as seen through the lens of mid-century modernist illustration styles - something similar to what might have appeared in a 1950s or 1960s children's book. This work was executed through and commissioned by Matli Group.

This series of six images come from a collection of roughly 100 black-and-white spot art illustrations that I executed for Drawn From The Word, an illustration archive that's sold by Creative Communications for the Parish. The collection is designed to provide churches and Christian schools with a library of liturgical imagery that can be used in a wide variety of church and school publications and presentations. The collection also includes some general spot art associated with common holidays and events within the church year.

Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots Interactive Game Artwork
Among the multiple projects that I tackled during my graduate studies at Tyler School of Art, easily one of the most fun projects to work on was an interactive children's eye-spy / visual scavenger hunt game based on the Flaming Lips' album Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots. In the game, Yoshimi is the designated guardian of Citius Major (seen in the background of this splash screen illustration), and has to use her uncanny powers of observation and detection to find the pink robots that have hidden themselves throughout the city. The robots were loosely disguised as commonplace objects which the game players have to tap and test to find out what's a robot and what's not.
