The Helix
This piece was a particularly big challenge. Our teacher decided to show us what a "terrible client" does so he separated each story into different Word documents and we had to collect it all and use it in a certain order, which was emailed to us later. Specifically it was a three-color job so I chose a Pantone green and orange. Every photo he provided as well was in the wrong format and I chose to make them a duotone of black and orange since full color wasn't an option. All the type treatments were left to our choosing, as well as creating a new masthead for the newsletter. I chose to incorporate circular designs since they felt kind of sciency/molecular. The newsletter starts out simple then the design aspect becomes denser and more technical to keep the readers interested.
